<p>Had a wonderful time playing at Dubh Linn's in Duluth with folks singing along to traditional Irish ballads. A very nice touch was having my sister and her partner coming to hear me play as part of her St. Pat's birthday celebration. I hadn't seen them in a couple years. I was asked if I could return next year. This will be my second time celebrating St. Pat's with folks at this fine establishment. Great food and a nice selection of beer and Irish whisky, too.</p>

<p>Had a nice time last night playing with musician friends at the Old Brule Heritage Society's annual fundraiser yesterday afternoon and into the night. The OBHS is responsible for preserving architectural, oral and written history of the area. The most famous is the Davidson Windmill on Highway 13 in Amnicon. This fundraiser was for the restoration of the Monticello school situated in Maple, WI off of Highway 2.  Cheryl Haworth and I reunite at Inland Sea Recording in Superior, Wisconsin on Halloween 2017 to rehearse "You're Helping Me And I'm Helping You" for submission to Catch the Moon Music. The spooky orange bandana I wore that evening had patterns of spiders and webs. But since we only had this one narrow time slot to record the song to meet the Nov. 1 submission deadline, that was the scary part, not the bandana.

<p>Responding to requests for a CD of Irish music I've been working on the project with Dave Hill at Inland Sea Studio in Superior, Wisconsin. The 18 track CD will have traditional Irish tunes, but with an original guitar instrumental called Bradoyle Jig, inspired by two great Irish musicians and songwriters, Paul Brady and John Doyle. I had the good fortune of studying guitar briefly with John Doyle at a guitar seminar. It has been fun to work little by little on it. <p>I attended the first ever CD Baby music conference in Chicago this past weekend as CD Baby is my music aggregator. It was a very informative conference concerning many aspects of the music industry for independent musicians. Like most good conferences, it was impossible to be in more than one place at one time. I will definitely go next year as they intend to hold another. Whether it will be in Chicago or not, I don't know.</p>

<p>I had an exciting evening last night! The amazing Irish folk singer and guitarist Paul Brady, performed at Chicago's Old Town School of Folk Music. What a wonderful concert. He did both Irish traditional music and his original compositions. The high point was being able to meet him afterwards at his CD table. <p>The concert in Sandstone at the Old School Arts Center went well. Well enough, that I was asked back next year! First half was music from "A Little Music On The Rocks." Second half was Irish/mixed Folk. One fellow bought a CD after he'd heard &nbsp;my wedding song, "Always" from "A Little Music On The Rocks."
